Come check out Grouphug‘s Window Solar Charger and chat with founder Krystal Persaud at Friday’s Interactive Show! “Window Solar Charger is designed for apartment dwellers. It hangs in your window and can charge USB devices off the grid.”
At Grouphug our mission is to empower everyone to live their best sustainable lives in style. We’re creating products that help more people adopt sustainable technology, like solar panels, into their everyday lifestyles. Our first product, the Window Solar Charger, is currently in beta. It’s a window-mounted solar panel designed for apartment dwellers to take their devices off-the-grid. Founded by Krystal Persaud, an NYC-based product designer & creative technologist. She is a founding member & former Senior Director of Product Design at littleBits and also teaches interaction design at SVA.
The 10th Annual Interactive Show: SOLAR PUNK
NYC Resistor’s Interactive Show returns for its 10th iteration. Our annual party and fundraiser invites hackers from around the region to show off their cool interactive projects with free beats and beers provided. Tickets $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
This year’s theme is SOLAR PUNK. Just what is Solarpunk? It’s a genre, it’s a movement, it’s an imagining of a brighter, greener, future where both technology and society are more humane. Check out TVtropes and solarpunks.net for a more detailed dive into what Solarpunk could mean. More projects to be announced soon. Keep checking the Resistor Blog and follow us on Instagram for previews!
